Idaho State Contractor License Regulations

Any contractor working in the State of Idaho must be registered or considered exempt by the Idaho Contractors Board. To Inquire about a local contractor in your area click here. Or you may also phone (208) 334-3950. Registration may be accomplished through the mail or initiated on-line. There is an original registration fee of $30.00. Applicant must also provide a certificate from his/her insurance company as proof of policy in effect, a general liability policy of not less than $300,000 single limit. Workers' Compensation is a requirement of the state, for more information concerning forms and legalities go to: Idaho Industrial Commission or call 208-334-6000.
 Idaho has no requirement of a State license for general contracting.
